How Interchange Works
Every card transaction generates an interchange fee. The acquirer pays it to the issuer, and the merchant pays its acquirer a separate merchant discount — so interchange is not a charge levied directly on the merchant. A share of that interchange is passed to you on each transaction.Revenue Potential
